Joanne + Peter
Joanne and Peter have a spacious kitchen with high ceilings that perfectly show off their reclaimed light fittings, lovely dark wooden flooring, and plenty of windows that flood the room with light. Their kitchen units are, for the most part, kept beautifully simple in style with splashes of bold colour: the island is painted in Farrow & Ball’s Stiffkey Blue and one singular red wall unit in Blackthorn’s Doran Red – both of which pop against Farrow & Ball’s Purbeck Stone on the main units. Peter and Joanne’s personal touches of antique and collectors’ ceramics complement their colour scheme wonderfully, and the overall effect is striking in its understated elegance which belies the inherently practical nature of the kitchen.
In addition to the kitchen, Joanne and Peter also have a cabinet unit spanning a whole wall in their WC which cleverly hides a tangle of pipes, wires, and control boxes, but still allows for access to every button and lever. This full wall unit is painted in Farrow & Ball’s Purbeck Stone, as are the units in the utility room which gives an impression of seamless flow throughout the three rooms.
